Donna (Boxer Female)

Donna the female boxer was rescued by Colossus Kennels about 3 1/2 years ago. We were said to be her 8th owner .She really seemed to have led a horrible life so far. She was extremely weak and could barely walk. Nails were about 2 inches long and she looked lost by her face expression.

When she came to us the first thing she did was to eat to her capacity and drank a lot of water and laid down to rest on Blade's couch. We softened her nails by using damp cotton to soften them and we slowly cut the nails to the maximum which really comforted her a lot.

Within few days she rapidly gained weight and looked pretty good. She was able to walk couple of hundred feets with ease. She learned how to swim and within four months was one of the most active female in our kennel.

We got her spayed then. She was very friendly with Blade and with each and every dog in the kennel. She was a real NO Fuss child and an ideal example of the qualities a dog owner looks for. She was playful, always wanting to be beside human, jumping on lap, very decent while in Car. No barking on other dogs, very watchful.

Blade and Donna shared a very comfortable bonding. Playing and sleeping together. She was shattered by his sudden demise. Blade died in sleep around 4 AM 28 June 2009.She was with him for 2 hours before we came to know when we went to open them in morning. When we entered the room she started shaking Blade to wake up to see that we had come. Tears were clearly rolling from her eyes. When Blade was being burried in the Kennel ground she entered the pit many times.

Donna had her morning meal along with Nico (labrador ) and Abby(DDBX) .She went to rest on her bed and she never woke up. This happened at about 10.30 AM.

Nico was really attached to her and was always with her till she was buried besides Blade and Bruno.
